Hi I’m Dr. Megan Boucher, Naturopathic Doctor
Hello! Thanks for stopping by.
Whether we have already had an appointment together, you’re still deciding on booking, or you’re looking to learn more about naturopathic medicine, welcome!
In case we haven’t already met, my name is Megan Boucher and I am a Board-Certified Naturopathic Doctor registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. I obtained my degree from the rigorous 4 year Naturopathy program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine after completing my Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Western Ontario. During my clinical internship I had the opportunity to gain experience at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, Queen West Community Health Centre, and the Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic within the William Osler Hospital in Brampton, Ontario. After graduation, I also received further training to become a Naturopathic Doula and obtained my Prescribing License to better support you through every stage of hormonal health.
My Journey
I have been a patient of a Naturopathic Doctor my whole life and know firsthand the power of preventative medicine.
As a child, when my brother or I got sick, my mom took us to our naturopathic doctor. He would give us a prescription for an herbal tincture, a supplement, foods to increase/avoid, or simple lifestyle changes to make.
Yes, we still took conventional medications when absolutely necessary! But for the most part, we knew our bodies just needed a little help to heal themselves.
It’s all about balance.
Fast-forward to my adult life. I suffer from hormonal migraines, heavy periods, and acne. While it is something I know I will need to continue to work on every day, I have learned the tools I need to help make my hormonal concerns more manageable and to live symptom-free (most of the time).
My goal is to do the same for you.
Areas of Interest
While the scope of Naturopathic Medicine allows Naturopathic Doctors to assist with many different conditions, my interest lies in a few select areas:
Healthy Prenatal & Pregnancy Support
I have additional training as a Naturopathic Doula to support you during your pregnancy. Please note I am not currently attending births
Menstrual Health
I help those with PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, heavy periods, and those who want to learn more about their periods
Peri-Menopause & Menopause
Your peri-menopausal journey can last 10 years and you don’t have to suffer through it. My prescribing license allows me to prescribe Hormone Replacement Therapy when needed to help with a smooth transition.
Thyroid Conditions
I help with the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid conditions. My prescribing license allows me to prescribe Natural Desiccated Thyroid when needed.
My Approach
In order for you to get the best results possible, my practice focuses on:
- Dietary support and lifestyle changes
- Targeted supplements and herbs
- Hormone Replacement Therapy
- Acupuncture
Through exploring your health history, running lab work, and performing physical exams, I am able to get a complete picture of what is going on in order to individualize my treatment plans to you. My treatment plans are based on up-to-date research when available, while taking into account your personal presentation and any concurrent conditions.
